All-wheel drive puts load through the center differential, the driveshaft, and the rear final drive. Mismatched tire wear across the axles is enough to make a healthy quattro system feel wrong, which is why a driveline complaint starts with measuring tires, not with pulling parts.
The electronics talk to each other
MMI, the comfort modules, and the engine management share a bus. A symptom that presents as an infotainment glitch can originate at a battery that is no longer holding voltage overnight, and replacing the module would not have fixed it.
